Cherokee County Republicans can be proud indeed of the great work done by District Chairman John Wallace and the Committees formed to present such a successful convention. Convention Chairman Pete Castello did a yeoman’s job of keeping the proceedings moving at a good pace with fairness and professionalism abounding.

I know that all Cherokee Party members are rightly proud of, and extend their congratulations to, CCRP members Judy Griffin, Rick Davies and Larry Mrozinski for being selected to represent the 11th Congressional District at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla this summer. Great Job !! Thank you as well to everyone who was able to make the effort to attend as a Delegate or Alternate… we had a total Registration of 125 people! Our work is cut out for us for the next seven months…. everyone can help.

The Official Republican Headquarters is OPEN!

Although seemingly preempted by the grand scale visit of Speaker Newt Gingrich on Thursday, the Cherokee County Republican Party is celebrating the Grand Opening of the Official Republican Headquarters in Cherokee tomorrow. Come out and visit our new facility between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. It’s located behind Longhorn’s at 1428 Towne Lake Parkway, Woodstock.

The Headquarters office will provide assistance and information to the public as we proceed through this year’s election cycle. Campaign literature and signage will be distributed as made available to us through the individual candidates and their campaigns.

Any dues-paid member of the CCRP who is also a candidate in any local election race may request use of the facilities for the purpose of phone banking. Those requests should go to Diane Rugg who is coordinating all functions at Headquarters. Reach her at djrugg@comcast.net

A number of fun social and fundraising events are planned throughout the Spring and Summer. They will be promoted here and in other venues. The secret to our ultimate success in this presidential election year, is everyone’s participation and support, with both money and energy. Volunteers to support the headquarters operation are always welcomed. We are proud to have to the energetic co-effort of the Young Republicans and the College Republicans at Reinhardt University.

This promises to be a great year…..YOU can help make that promise come true!
